City skybox

Hi all,

I'm using blender for my thesis, for modelling traffic congestion in my city. I was wondering were I might be able to find a skybox that is a city scene. I researched it a bit but was unable to find anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you mean to use as a background in blender, blender can't use cubic environments. To use an environmental background the best way is to have the top half of a spherical map or a polar oriented Angular map for a full sphere. HDR Shop (http://gl.ict.usc.edu/HDRShop/) can help with that. ReSPaM (http://ebbstudios.com/download/ReSPaM.zip), a tool for combining cubes into spheres, is probably actually even more helpful. Take 6 pics, lay them out by name, run ReSPaM and delete the lower half of the sphere in GIMP. Add as an environmental texture and map to sphere.

That's a lot of work but if you find a cube somewhere you can use that then. :)
