WOW! Really cool sculpture! Keep it up!

I was waiting for this, I was keeping an eye on your ‘blender tests’ tests. Its a fine sculpture here, just some crits: Ears need a better topology. As usual… Sorry for my english, the area above the eyes… needs some stronger shapes there. More ups and downs. Its where personality is building IMO. The weak point of CG graphics.
A nice sculpt anyway

Howker, thanks

michalis, you’re right about both…I usually don’t pay enough attention to ears, and, the area above the eyes is something that I never get right, I guess I should hunt for some references. Thank you a lot for your crits  I need that kind of feedback

You know Sick, this area above eyes (so many muscles there, I don’t know their names even in greeks), is the most difficult. A study of ancient greek or roman portraits helps here. IMO, CG animation suffers here. Avatar animation had problem there too. They had to invest extraterrestrial species that could hide this weakness. A study of the classics could lead to a better topology there. This is a subject to discuss anyway.
I really enjoy your studies and progress, keep the good work. !!!

yeah this is awesome!

using the gsoc sculpt builds, do you find yourself using more of the new tools?

or just enjoying the fixed claybrush :stuck_out_tongue:

michalis, thanks for the tips, I’ll search for some classic sculptures, I don’t even know the names of the muscles in that area in spanish either, let alone english, but I concur it’s a difficult area to get right. Learned a lot from your sculptures, I love how your renders look

Jeepster, thanks  I haven’t tried the new tools that much, but scrape looks like a useful one. So, you’re right, mostly enjoying the fixed claybrush  Also, I finally started liking the draw brush in 2.5, I had some aversion to it in previous versions, but now is great to work with it.
