This tutorial series consists of 6 parts: It goes through about an hour of video altogether, and explains techniques on modeling, and then seams and Unwrapping, then Texturing (Color, Normal, Spec, AO maps). This is for GLSL. It is done in Blender 2.56 Beta, but can be copied in 2.49b! Thanks
