Dreidecker

Main render is very fast work (one evening) cause publisher needed it suddenly  Model is not new, but now I have permission to show it. It is Fokker Dr.I for a book about this one. It will be more then 200 renders of details there. “Studio” is very simple, but aim was to show details not light effects. In fact I show it as model not scene

wonderful!!

awsome 5 *****

model is simply amazing
the background composition though makes impression like the horizon should be wayyy higher, the ground plane is oriented too straight towards the viewer

how long does it take for you to model all those tiny details?
and how do you know the subject so well? where do you get your references from?
i just can’t stop looking and discover new details with every peek…

and the materials… the red paint, and the gun material are perfect on that render… ehh, i envy you this dedication to details

Wow! That’s beautiful work.

Insanely good in every way!

awesome work.

Awesome! Amazing details!

Superb! love the texturing on the guns!

The detail is fantastic, especially on the pictures showing the construction of the plane. Great Job.

That is amazing. Great job!

3 words: amazing, beautiful, awesome!

can you tell me some advices for getting such a metal looking shader for the guns? Are all parts UV mapped and how did you textured it?

Everybody’s already used up all the superlatives, so I guess I’ll just say “Ditto!” to all the above. The construction detail renders are mind-boggling, despite a few texture repeats easily seen. In the “in-flight” rendering I miss some indication of a pilot, though.

Model of the models, great job I love it

Thanks for comments
Model was build and UV-ed in Blender. Early tests was done in Yafaray build Blender, but final renders and shaders are from Modo. Model have about 15 milions poly and is based on many sources.

And for addition: two engines used on Dr.I
standard Oberursel Ur II (copy of french LeRhĂ´ne 9B)

and captured Clerget 9 from destroyed Camel (used by Josef Jacobs on his Dreideckers)

:spin: this is absolutely awesome

Fantastic modeling and attention to detail! Unfortunately, you beauty shot doesn’t show it off at all! I’d pitch the camera up so that you get a view of that gorgeous cockpit. Also, your backdrop is really visually confusing since it’s looking down on farmland on the one hand, and looking straight out towards the horizon with those clouds on the other.

Looks amazing!

Hey this is amazing work! I would love to see the texture setting for the metal on the gun! looks spectacular!
