dicom importer

I m looking for a way to create 3d model from a dicom image sequence.
Did someone know a software able to convert dicom sequence into a 3d model and get success importing it into blender?
Or did someone already see a dicom importer for blender?
thanks

I’ll pipe in here.

DICOM data is a stack of images which represent an intensity value at points with volume (voxels) in soace. To get anything out of it that blender can use, you either need to extract an “iso surface” to get a mesh, or you need to do some other trickery to take your voxel data, and assignt particles and smoke to it (This was done by Cam Barton I think…search around for it). What are you trying to accomplish?

  1. Visualize
  2. Animate/manipulat
  3. Modeling/retopology
  4. other?

Let me know what your end goal is and hopefully I can steer you in a better direction. I’ve used the following for extracting surfaces and models from medical DICOMM data…they all have different plused and minuses. I like DEVIDE the most.

Slicer 3d
DEVIDE Runtime
Inversalius
Osirix
