Texture Splatting using GLSL in Blender ??

Hello guys, i just found this awesome video http://vimeo.com/1146131 (Use of Texture Splatting using GLSL in Blender), however i dont see clearly the buttons that he used because the video is very low res and it´s made in a little old blender, so i will love if someone can tell me wich are the commands or a most recent tutorial that show this technique.

Excuses for my english (Im learning :P) and sorry if this is thechnique is a little obviously but im new in Blender :wink:
