this is a new animated GIF I just finished this morning - again, it is for my company’s business partners portal, so don’t worry about the file size (105 KB), because they’ve got high speed connections
It’s the first time I used Blender’s relative vertex keys - it was really easy to understand and nice to work with. The original is in german - I translated it so that everybody here can understand it.
If filesize isn’t an issue, you might want to consider making it a Flash animation. It would be much smoother. AVI’s can be imported directly into the latest version of Flash, but I get better results converting it with Vid2Flash.
djfuego: If they do, my company will make me the marketing director, I guess
GCat: Thank you! Actually, I built this character for an article about how our software keeps out various viruses (see image below).
Gabio: file size is no problem - wonderful - isn’t it? On our public website I have to stop at 16KB for an anaimation with 80x70 pixels.
redhot: At this time I prefer to use animated GIFs because I think that they give me better control over the image quality - but I started experiments with ImageReady’s Flash export.
you dont convert it
when you render pick the gif image compression from the render menus and you need fireworks to composite it into a working animated gif or something like that, its almost reflex to me
I render the animation as numbered frames (choose ‘Save image as:PNG’ instead of rendering into an AVI) and import this into Adobe Image Ready - I think it’s the best Windows application for creating animated GIFs.
Anyway, you can also use any other application that imports numbered frames into layers and is capable of creating animated GIFs. If you are looking for a free application, I recommend ‘the GIMP’ http://www.gimp.org together with the GIMP Animation Package. Just load the first image of your rendered animation and choose ‘Video / Frames to Image’ from the menu.
I got a quick question how do you make the think ‘squish’ when the box falls is that a script? I was wonndering because im making a secene where there are test tubes and liquid is dripping out. I can’t figure out for to make it look like its pouring out.
It’s a cheap trick, the puddle is just an object with an animated size to get this effect. For puddles this might be OK, but for drops of liquid I would take a look at Blender’s Meta Balls or the new Soft Bodies.
Anyway, I thought the Geneva Conventions prohibit the revival of old threads like this one :D.
