CG Employment

I have been using blender for a while now and I was wondering if anyone could point the way to finding CG employment options. It doesn’t have to be anything big, just a small/medium project or buisness. I would like to be able to make a little money with blender and be able to call myself a professinal. 8)

Does anyone here know where I might be able to find the type of work I described above? If so please let me know where I can find it. Also, if anyone here is working on a project and it is starting to become to overwhelming and you need help and are willing to fork over a few bucks, just PM me. :stuck_out_tongue: Well, hope I can find something good.

Thanks,

TraceR

The only thing I can think of right now is cgtalk.

“Artists Looking for Jobs”

“Studios Hiring”

Also look on http://insidecg.com/job.php

Also if you’re serious about it… first make a showreel (short bit of video) that you can show people.

And put some time into finding businesses that you think are really cool and see if they have a jobs page on their website. I mean… even pixar has one and you can just send in your resume… if you don’t try… you won’t get it

Check with your local Lawyers (accident/crime scene recreation) and architechs (virtual walkthroughs). Blender is well suited for both. A few of these jobs will help build references and show prespective employers you are serious, and willing to do the grunt work, not just the glamour jobs. I’ve done some work for a local carpentry country, they use it to show potential customers what their kitchen will look like with custom cabinets, etc.
