"Please click on the following link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seqfgmpGvRs , to see a compilation of footage of a helicopter that was modeled and animated in Blender and that was used in the cool action movie “BATTLE EARTH”. The movie is set to be released in Canada and the United States late summer or early fall 2013 and in India, The U.K., Russia, Belgium, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands, with no release dates yet for these countries.
Nice work - were they textured in Blender as well, and did you use Blender Render (BI) or Cycles? Nice work, I like the animations and cutaways to live footage
Thanks Craig. Yes, all the work was done in Blender except for the UV paint map, which was done in GIMP. It was all rendered with Blender Internal (so far no one has given me a convincing argument why I should switch to cycles). Did you watch the movie trailer at the second link?
Make sure it is the embed code and not just the normal link code. Beautiful work in my opinion.
As for Cycles, it doesn’t matter really - I just thought to myself that I could see a bit of Blender Internal in the render, but that is just from experience. For the most part, I think for now it is easier to render transparency in Blender internal for composting when needing shadows, but that is still my own opinion.
