GPU x CPU, why should I use GPU render on cycles?

I´m playing with my options here, I have in one corner an i7 3820 lga 2011 and on the other corner a GTX 660 ti, fight!

The results I had by trying to render the same scene on both of them is weird, I´m having quicker renderizations on CPU render than GPU render, wich is weird, I use Octane and I have ultra fast renderizations with it, far more fast than CPU rendering, so, this is it? Cycles GPU rendering is slower than CPU rendering?

Have you confirmed you are actually using the gpu for rendering ?
Latest drivers ?
blender version ?
What is your test scene

Yes, its enabled on user settings and on the render panel.

I have the latest driver of my graphic card and Im using blender 2.66.

I m rendering a project and it´s not a test scene, actually is a very big scene 3 000 000 polygons, but I m having slowr times with GPU.

Ok, thanks guys, Im probably wrong about it, maybe something happened when I was rendering with the GPU.

Anyway, thanks for your time and for your help!
