VSE convert color to alpha

Hi…

I have a video file where I want to change the black color to alpha.
I would like to use the VSE but I do not know if this is possible there?
Does anybody know if this is possible?

The VSE doesn’t have a set alpha or linear key as a modifier to generate the the alpha channel. You have to use the compositor to do that and load that up in the VSE of another scene.

Depending on the rest of the clip, you might be able to do it with a Mask modifier. On the strip you want the alpha channel on, under Modifiers, click ‘Use Linear Modifiers’ and select Mask. if you want the alpha on the same strip you want to use as Mask layer, just duplicate the strip, make one mask and use that to set alpha on the other strip.
