Low poly farm scene

Working on a low to mid poly farm scene suitable for game use. Farmer, house, field, some tools, a shed/barn, maybe an animal or two and a tree.

Farmer up first:

High poly

Draft Low poly

I think there are still a few triangles I want to cut from the ears and face. Elbows and knees need to be redone for animation. Going to work on the house next and come back to finish this character later.

Low poly farm house. Ive put down the first layer of paint.

A couple other props:

Planning to get base paint layers down on these today.

UV mapping on the props is done and everything has a base coat of paint down.

I’ve always liked low poly high textured stuff. I’m looking forward to seeing more

Adjusted some geometry and did quite a bit of painting. Added a platform, but its only half painted for now.

I screwed up a little bit and forgot to make the planned geometry changes on the farmer before I started on his textures. Hopefully this wont cause too much extra work.

A detail shot of the updated flower, now featuring leaves! Cant believe I forgot those the first time around.

Spec and normal maps on the house. Viewport GLSL shading.

Also geometry fixes and rigging almost finished on farmer.

Had some other projects come up and had to put this aside for a few days, but Im back on the job now. Rigging is finished and Ive banged out a walk and jump cycle for the farmer. Still planning to make an idle animation, then get back to working on his textures.

Nice work so far. It seems the colors could be a bit brighter/colorful and the farmer’s skin and pants could be a bit more different from each other.

Farmers textures are about ready. Here is an updated animation.
