Create a timelapse video in Blender?

I have recorded a hour long modeling process, and want to change the framerate to play triple fast and add music to upload as a timelapse on youtube. Is this possible with Blenders video editing tools?..If not, what’s the best program to do this in?

I believe the short answer is: load your video into the Video Sequence Editor (VSE) and then before outputting change the Time Remapping.
I think if you want triple speed it would be Old:100 New:33
Haven’t tested this yet though.

For audio you can add a .wav or .mp3 to the VSE timeline. Just make sure your video output settings are set to include audio.

Add video strip then add a speed effect strip to that. The change the speed strip to 1/3rd length. Then add music to match length. Use preferred frame rate, Youtube should recognise even an odd frame rate like 10fps etc.
