The name blender came from a song by Yellow.
It was the song used for a NeoGeo demo with 3d art made by Frank van Beek & Ton Roosendaal. Traces, the mother of blender, was used to make the animations. When Ton was preparing for the new version of traces we needed a name. Now who is the parent? I think it came up out of a discussion between Ton and me. Me being Joeri Kassenaar. He named it blender so I guess he is at least 1 parent. In my perception it always was a blending device/tool. Blending art & technic. A pitty I don’t have any of my work on the Blender demo, which was so cool I joined NeoGeo. I did get ‘some’ stuff on the Did it Done it demo.
