General chocofur models thread.

Hello fellow Blender users,

I’ve been working on some new chocofur models recently and thought it would be a cool idea to share some of the renderings here on the forum before the actual models get released. Hope you’ll like it and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Starting with some toys and office details I’ve done this week, all rendered in Cycles on a single Titan within 5-10 minutes per picture.

And a T-rex in 4k (open in new browser tab for full res).

Have a great weekend!!

Some beds rendered throughout last weekend (drag picture to a new tab for better preview):

And some shading tests:

that is absolutely amazing. How did you manage the wrinkles in the bed, they are unbelievable. These are some of the most realistic beds I have ever seen

Yesterday I was working on one of the models and I’ve finally tried creating nice looking and fast rendering translucent shader for lamps, curtains etc. I think it worked quite well, below you can see the results and node setup I’ve used. And btw, if you’d like to read more about Cycles shaders you can check my tutorial in this topic: http://www.chocofur.com/6-shaderstextures.html

Hey everyone, sending some updates on the new toy models I’m working on.

Hey, I was spending some time lately trying to create shader node groups for speeding up my material creating process. Below you can see some of the examples - they’ll be shared for free on my website after I do some more testing.

Amazing, great work, keep it up!

Damn, some of those models are insanely photo-realistic, all of them are fantastic, look forward to seeing more.

Just a note to say thanks for the amazing work you have put into the free tutorials on your site the material ones are exceptional! And really nice work on the site in general, thanks again!

Impressive renders.
Congratulation.

Very nice work. Can you explain more on those metals? Procedural may be?!

I just want to take a moment and complement you on the very nice tutorials you have been posting on your website. These are really well thought out and explained. I would encourage others to click your link to your store and check them out.

EDIT…Oh I’m really sorry, I thought I posting in my own WIP, but I was mistakenly still on this thread.

I agree with harley, definelly your tutorials on shaders are excellent, I try to shared to any friend artist than don’t feel strenght on that topic, you reach results pretty well with a simplistic way, I will leave my five starts for you great job.

Guys thank you so much for your keen words!

Below I post some examples of the shading nodes being used in normal production. I think the effects are visually much better, the speed improvement on shading was also significant. I’m now working on a short tutorial explaining each shading node (they’ll be available for download from my store).

Just curious, will parts 7-9 be added ? http://www.chocofur.com/house-breukelen.html

I was interested in your lighting setup, after reading your article, i downloaded the bent mesh and plane studio setup provided on your website. When i rendered my models, the colors looked washed-out (i modelled and textured a black leather couch, and it looks grey:no:).

Do you have any ideas, what’s going on ? i have posted my renders on another thread (“Black Leather Couch” under “Focused Critiques”).
It would be great if you could help me out. Thanks in advance.

Ivan
