Proportional editing does not affect half of mesh.

When using proportional editing it only effects the half of the mesh in which I’ve selected a face. Even if I select faces in both halves it only affects the half in which the first face was selected.

I assume this has something to with either:

  • not having applied a mirror modifier before joining several meshes
  • my messing around with the rigging

If anyone knows a fix I’d be very grateful, this is slowing me down quite a bit.

i’d upload a blend file but for some reason I can’t…

If you have a mirror modifier, it should “just work”. If you don’t, but your mesh is symmetrical, you can enable ‘X Axis Mirror’ in the Toolshelf (Options tab).

You can upload blend files to www.pasteall.org/blend and post a link here.

There is currently no mirror modifier on it. It had one but got merged with other meshes a while ago, now I had to seperate it again to fix my noobish rigging positioning. It isn’t symmetrical either anymire (due to relocations etc)

Here’s a link: http://www.pasteall.org/blend/32358

If you just want proportional editing to work on the entire mesh, you’ll need to disable that X Axis Mirror. If you want symmetrical edits, you’ll have to realign your object’s origin.

jesus christ, that did it. thanks man :stuck_out_tongue:
