Cannot use rotation tool

On my main computer I don’t have problems, but i just installed blender on my laptop and whenever I try to use the transformation widget it won’t let me grab the wheel, it just moves the 3d cursor wherever I’m trying to click. Any idea why or how to fix it?

I went into the settings and increased the grab area and other options there but it did no good, something else is causing this problem.

Can you still rotate by pressing R?

Yes it can be done that way, and I can see the rotation wheel, it’s just not letting me grab it.

Did you try updating the graphics driver?

You might need to uncheck that button with the 3 dots and 2-headed arrow.
