are wacom erasers pressure sensitive ?

are all wacom pens that have eraser have erasers with pressure sensitivity ? I’m probably going to get a graphics tablet but if there is a graphics tablet/pen that has an eraser with pressure sensitivity I’d prefer that. I’m currently debating the small and medium versions of the http://www.wacom.com/en-us/products/pen-tablets/intuos-pen-and-touch-medium and the small version of http://www.wacom.com/en-us/products/pen-tablets/intuos-pro-small but may decide to go for an older version, my budget is around $250(USD) though if I could get a quality tablet in the $100+ range that has a pressure sensitive erase I’d happily get that. I was considering the quite affordable wacom bamboo but the latest iteration doesn’t have an eraser so I’m leaning heavily towards the intous pen and touch. I’m not sure if there is any respectable alternatives to wacom since I’m really new in the world of graphics tablets.

You know what - I never ever take the time to turn the pen over to use the eraser - it’s just not natural and takes too long compared to hotkeying to eraser for the main pen.

For what it’s worth I’ve got a Wacom Bamboo and it’s awesome.

you know I’ve never thought about using the pen as an eraser either :stuck_out_tongue: so you are satisfied with the bamboo ? are you using the newest model or an older one ? also I’m told the size to get is dependant upon screen size I have a 1366x768 15" monitor would a small work for me or should I go for the medium ?

Not sure - it’s a couple of years old. Model CTH-470. I’m really happy with it but I’ve never used anything else so not the best person to recommend one over another. My screen is 1920x1080 and certainly don’t feel like there isn’t enough resolution in it.

ahh thanks I’m just trying to get a feel of what would be a good fit, I don’t trust manufacturer return policies ;p

I have a intuos 5 medium, ptk 650 (used very little…yet a lot to learn). The eraser have pressure sensitivity, even if not as accurate as the pen becouse there is some mechanical “play” when pressing it.
I’m not sure about the size but you can change/adapt the tablet and screen working area.

I have a Huion 580 and it works well with Win 7 64-bit and Linux (using the Digimend drivers).

Huion 580: http://www.huion-tablet.com/product/product.php?sku=1005
DigiMend: https://digimend.github.io/

The Huion is Chinese, but it’s well made and solid. It works like you would expect it.

ahh thanks, I might actually try one of the Huions then (heh I dual boot Arch Linux and Windows 8.1) so being supported in both is a huge plus, I really appreciate the feedback as I said I’m a first time graphics tablet buyer. (the price on the huion gts-190 is quite reasonable($580USD)), I’m also glad to hear that most erasers have pressure sensitivity ;p

I bought my car for $600.

I have 2 …both cheap (not as cheap as the Huion lol ) one small one large (a4 size) I h8 the large one, although technically its better

I’d say pick up an a4 pad of paper and draw a sketch (anything) if you squish it all in a 1/4 of the paper get small!! if you use all the paper get a medium if you turn the page to draw on other side maybe you’d do better with a LARGE tablet

if you have a big computer store near you ask to try before you buy
