I imported an Adobe Illustrator file as a DFX and now have several icons in the outliner that I’ve never seen before. They look like tripods and contain several parts (lines and curves). I haven’t found any guide that shows and explains what this icon is.

Perhaps you have a screenshot of these things?
An Empty object ? The other objects may be parented to the empty so would appear under it
Aha! That’s the one, thanks Richard. This would make sense as I have several curves and text objects parented to each one. I sure wish that the wiki and user’s guide had this small but important information.
