The first 4 lessons in a series on video editing using open-source software: Blender.
Blender is currently regarded a the only stable option for video editing on Linux and is a good option for precise video editing on any operating system - but it’s not that easy to even find the video editor within Blender - so I thought I’d put together a series of video for non-Blender users who want to edit video using free software, and find they want something a more precise and powerful that Windows Movie Maker or iMovie. https://youtu.be/-fbtz6mro5M Downloading Blender https://youtu.be/qA5AV2QJOgg Setting up Blender https://youtu.be/AgtjjdPeKaU File Systems https://youtu.be/jtMbHOpx2uo Editing
Any comments would be helpful… If this goes well, I hope to add videos about colour correction, using Audacity for noise-reduction, Addons that make video editing easier, and other options. I hope people find them useful, maybe not for themselves, but for friends who want to edit video, but find Blender scary.
1: More features on Easy Logging
2: Parametric video editing (automatic editing/sincing to music)
3: Proxy / Timecode
4: Audacity for noise-reduction
5: Gimp for titles
6: Blender 3D for titles (wo - that’s going to be a series all to it’s self!)
I’ve looked at VSE Quick Functions… Some of it I really like, but unfortunately Quicklist totally ruins it for me. It fills up too much space on the VSE properties panel, meaning that if you have a complex editing project you have to scroll past a huge list all the time. I’ll cover it in the series, but I’ll have to say why I don’t like it.
Are there any other things that you think I should be covering? Which of my current list do you think is most important?
Thanks! just wish I had found them a few months ago, still will watch some and pic up some tips, I have subscribed to your channel.
I do notice that Blender doesn’t appear in the title of the videos, hope folk don’t overlook them for that reason.
