Would you guys consider adding a chat box feature under the feature row that’s only visible in the home screen so we can talk about CG stuff? Have this been done before?
A long time ago (… like 10+ years ago, unless I’m remembering wrong) there was IRC integration on the site (with #blenderchat on freenode, I think). Since then, there have been occasional queries about chat interaction.
Personally, I think the site should function as a forum and focus on what it does best. IRC is still there (managed with better clients), there’s a Blender StackExchange chat, and there are a few people (I think) looking to maybe set something up using Slack or Mattermost. Granted, I don’t have final say on anything, but that’s my thoughts on it.
