Chocofur IES lights for Cycles

Hey everyone,

I thought you might be interested in this one - I’ve recently uploaded 10 IES profiles created directly in Cycles using a node setup allowing you to adjust their look without any external applications. There’s also a Chocofur tutorial explaining the entire process and some issues you may come across when working with spot lamps in Blender.

Happy Blending!

thank you for your detailed tutorial. I have a question, is there any way to fetch your tutorial on my PC so that I can learn it offline

Oh nice - I have to show this my students!

Really helpful and nice website!

Coming from vray i didn’t even bother to try small mesh lights - never knew they worked so well! (i know they have some russian roulette sampling since a while and a ‘direct light’ option in the materials, but it rarely worked as expected…)

Thanks a lot!

@lechu
Thank you very much. Really useful tutorial!!

Nice. One suggestion for a “realism” improvement:

Plug the black body node into the second slot of the colour mix node - that way you can tint your lamp realistically using colour temperature.
