3DS MAX exporting textures into tga, Blender cant open them

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can help me with this problem… I have some model in 3DS MAX, when I export to OBJ it places all the textures in a “composite” texture or so it says then when I try to import into Blender, everything has only one texture and not all textures. Is there a way to make 3DS Max not do this? why it cant just use the mtl??? Normally I would just redirect each texture manually, but this model has hundreds of textures on hundreds of objects…
