Update: Hair update

I thought I’d attempt to convert my sketch of a “very sophisticated” ape into a model for animation. Below are images of the first sculpt pass. Hopefully I can retopo tomorrow.

Current progress of the head retopology. Unsure about some of my choices – especially under the chin area.

Retopology of the upper body. The hands were really difficult but a good learning experience.

Finally finished the retopology of the base ape body. Now to figure out which of the many things I need to do next. I guess a detailed multires sculpt.

UV unwrapped. Not too confident with my approach. My thoughts are that the face, ears and hands will get the most attention therefore they need more texel density. Also, the torso might be covered by a shirt or I might attempt adding a hair particle system (or some combination of both).
