blur holdout material


hello guys, you thinkis possoible to blur the holdout material(circle mesh). Monkey as DOepth of filed but the border of holdout is not blurred

If I’m understanding you correctly, you’re expecting the depth of field to apply to an object with a holdout material. The technique for me:

Yes. If you calculate the depth of field in this way it’s ok but if you save the zdepth pass, Can you extract it?

Sure! Or you can use an ID pass, or a Render Layer just for the Holdout object, etc. The technique you use depends entirely on what you’re going to do with it. There’s a way to do most sorts of composites – what’s your final image supposed to do?
