how do i start making a medical mask material

as the title says, i don’t know where to start and i had many failed attempts at translucent materials. here is a reference:

Searching for translucent materials in this forum and in the net would be a good start.

Feel free to ignore me, but i don’t see (read: pretend not seeing) any translucency on image. All i see is diffuse and small glossy (brighter diffuse?) dotted pattern plus green-ish shadows. Might save some time rendering.
