Need artists for first-person sci-fi co-op

Project Overview:
We are building a co-op rogue-like adventure where players join together to operate a multi-crew space ship. We’re doing some awesome game features. Example of game features:

  • 2-6 player co-op
  • players can perform crew activities such as pilot, gunner, engineer, mechanic, navigation
  • repair damage to hull or ship systems and upgrade ship systems in or out of combat
  • handle a tribble infestation
  • players never leave 1st person, gameplay is seamless

The project’s been going strong for about 10 months now, plus two years of game concept and design work prior to start. Many of the base game systems are already designed and/or implemented to some degree. Everyone on the project gets to help out with design as desired, we have a great team spirit, and a lot of fun! You can find our Facebook community page here: https://www.facebook.com/hdsdistantsuns/

What we’re looking for:
Our current team consists of 2 software engineers, 2 3d modellers, and a music/sfx composer. I want to bring on more talent to round out our team, as well as increase project speed. Specific talent we’re looking to bring on:

  • 3D Modeler* - building meshes and textures for space ships, space equipment, space chairs, space plants… Familiarity with Unity is extremely helpful, but not required. http://forum.unity3d.com/styles/default/xenforo/clear.png
  • 3D Modeler Intern* - same as above. We’re looking for someone with decent talent mixed with lots of energy and excitement about the project
  • 2D Artist* - provide 2D art for marketing-style images to be used in the Kickstarter, community sites, etc
  • 2D Concept Artist*
  • Anyone who can help with web and community aspects
  • = Please send portfolio/examples with your initial message, or be prepared to shortly after. It doesn’t have to be incredible, but it sure does help!

Project Goals:
Our current goal is launching a Kickstarter for the project in the next few months (as soon as visuals catch up with functionality), followed by either a paid project, or if unsuccessful, going straight to a Steam Early Access release. We are dedicated to getting this game into the hands of gamers any way we can.

Let me know if this is something you’re interested in, and I can provide you with more details as desired about our goals, game features/direction, etc.

Thanks,
Jonathan
