Problem rendering normal maps

Hello, I’m having problems with normal maps in cycles.

As you can see in the image, I’d like it to look like the one in Maya, but instead of popping out and looking like a rivet, it looks like a weird indented disk. (it is the same normal map)

My node setup is very simple:

Would really appreciate any kind of help on this.

Your material node setup is wrong, google “blender cycles how to apply normal map” to see how it is done right.
