Mobas City | update p.3 june 10th

Hi people,

this is a project of mine for a company called Mobas. I have to create a sci-fi city reprenting a unified europe in about 50-60years. Well it’s mostly a huge city that got the main building of the different europe country, and the image need to show that Mobas is the central point of that city… There should be a big building in the middle representing the company. Their slogan is “Mobas, your gateway for advertising across Europe”. So the image needs to represent that.

I’ll most likely put alot of heli pad on the building, and I want all the roads (which are gonna be monorails) to converge to this main building. Advertising panels are gonna be mostly everywhere in different language depending near which “important building” of europe it is. If you have any suggestion as it goes along be sure to tell me because this thing could make me do alot of money :slight_smile:

Looks really good.
My only crit so far is that the right hand side of the building looks too flat. I’d put maybe some shiny windows on it or something.

secondly, perhaps it needs something at the very top, like a tower or golden globe… maybe?

you’re pushing me to make even more detail! keep up the good work :wink:

Are those multiple elevator cars on the front? If they are, how do you get from the bottom to the top floor with all the other cars in the way?

What I still have to do on them:
-Tweak the size and the design of the elevator, multiple elevator in the same line = WRONG lol tx for the tip :wink:
-add details on the 4 HeliPad
-add details everywhere else :slight_smile:
-Add train station in between the 2 towers

but for what he tries to communicate the first one works better.
it is not a what looks better questions. it is what expresses the
point better. and the first with its massice structure fits in.
the second does not.

but both look good. while the second is more detailed and my thus a bit
more interesting.

dont give up on the project! looks great sofar.

well for the moment I do agree that the two towers do not represent the “com building” really much. But I plan on adding alot of stuff next time I work on it. And I found the other building to be too small and too large at the same time… it didn’t represent a huge company that “reaches” everyone. It wouldn’t do much sitting in the middle of a huge sci-fi city that got alot of high skyscrapper…

4 towers is better than 2 :stuck_out_tongue: I might go back to 2… I’ll see as I build the city around it…maybe it will decent, or maybe it will be too much…I’ll see.

THe background is just a pic for the slight reflection in the windows of the building…so please don,t comment on the perspective and stuff…it’s useless since it’s temporary. I forgot a layer when I rendered, so the bottom right 3 elevators are missing. The building is almost finished. I’d say it is for the moment, since my main goal is to havea first “draft” of the whole city by June 15th. So I better get moving to the other buildings.

c&c are always appreciated…and if you do critics, please suggest something to fix the problem you mention. Thank you.

Oh and sorry about the over-lighting at the top…

Real nice modelling, not much to crit as there’s little wrong with it, just keep going, it should look great. Just one question though: Did you intend the ‘satellite’ dishes (or whatever their use) on top of the building to be the size of observatories? Because in accordance to the size of the lifts (and therefore a human) they’d be huge.

Really nice design. lol about the elevators. I think having so many large satelite dishes is wrong, these days the dishes are quite small, and besides most large buildings would have smaller microwave dishes which are encolsed in the front.

hmm yea the antennas are quite too big…will rework that out tomorrow

I’ll need some bigger towers and a better looking design too. Tomorrow I’ll tweak the current towers to get a nicer design, and higher (now at 80floors…I’ll need about 150-175)

I’ll also prepare a section of the city for the first european country I’ll put in (remember this city needs to look like a united europe)…I’ll make a futuristic eiffel tower.

Maybe it’s just me, or perhaps someone else’s mentioned it, but it kinds of seem a little too tight when it comes to the actual buildines themselves. It’s almost like they’re made from the same buildings with different elevation at different parts. The streets are pretty spacious, and it’d be nice to have some water texture if you ever get past the modelin stage. :wink: Just a comment, and keep on working! Love it!

P.S. How do people get into the buildings anyway?

well as I said, that was a “proportion” test…to get a city layout down. Those building are…FAR from being finished… I’ll model at least half of them to give a better look to the city. The streets are indeed qutie large, will check this out later today.

I know about the distortion and the weird shaped building around the main towers…but it’s not important for the moment. Any suggestion on the Mobas Towers??

This building is great… it inspired me to do my current wip city. I think the Mobas logo should be above the tower, right now it wouldn’t be visible from some angles… and advertisements are all for visibility right? You could even mount the logo on a rotating mechanism… :stuck_out_tongue:
