Hey guys, Chris Burton here. I'm a freeware game developer (http://iceboxgames.agsn.co.uk), and I've just finished my first proper Blender (and for that matter, 3D) project: a 15-minute short film starring my videogame characters Da New Guys.

It's a fun little story about pro-wrestling. I'm still learning, and I have a VERY old computer, so I had to come up with a few novel ways to cut down on rendertimes. The crowd, for example, are animated textures mapped onto 2D planes, but it works OK.

I've uploaded high and low quality versions of the film onto ShareCG:

High-quality: http://www.sharecg.com/v/23883/animation/Da-New-Guys:-FTW-(High-Quality)
Low-quality: http://www.sharecg.com/v/23872/animation/Da-New-Guys:-For-The-Winnings?PSID=878c85c235992485a390131317446f73

I'm a real novice when it comes to uploading movies, so I'd really appreciate any advice you guys could give me regarding sharing the film and getting it some exposure. It was pretty tough to make and I hope the reaction is positive. Enjoy!

Good stuff man, smooth animation, visually pretty good for low poly, very impressive. I loved the mouths actually, I dunno why. The whole facial rig looked great,

I loved it. 5 *s 3 for content/visual aesthetic, 2 for finishing the dang thing.

that was brilliant! nice story, superb animation, wonderful! shows that you don't need photorealism, effects and eye-candy to do some very entertaining and amusing stuff.
respect for finishing such a huge project!

A downloadable .mov / .avi / .mpg would be great, for us poor dial-up users.

(I'm slurping it down now ... so far looks great)

As for "getting the word out", posting it on YouTube ,and as many other video sites is probably a good idea.

Posting to Cgtalk, HighEnd3d, Strut your reel ... (other animation forums) also a good idea.

Mike

Thanks for the positive comments, guys! Glad I was able to make something entertaining!
I know I'm not the most proficient user (though I have bought the Mancandy FAQ...) but it was a film stemmed more from idea rather than ability - I came up with the film's concept, and then learnt how to make it.
Mike_S: Thanks for letting me know about those other sites - I'll try my luck there (though "HighEnd3D" sounds out of my depth )
On a side note, is the music loud enough? We weren't sure if there were certain moments it could've been more prominent...
