Hey everyone, I've been doing a bunch of making-of podcasts for my short film "Pigeon: Impossible." I'm actually an XSI guy but the podcasts cover more general 3D techniques that aren't XSI specific. I've actually gotten a pretty huge response from the Blender community so I figured I'd start posting them up here to see if you find them useful. I'd love to hear any feedback you have!

The high quality versions are here: http://www.pigeonimpossible.com/podcast/
but they're also available on my YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_lis...E7DC81F6D1D522

needs quicktime?

I'm on linux and qt 7.5 created stuff seems to block me from trying to make use of workarounds, bummer.

Youtube obviously works fine, though.

Actually, they're mp4s. If you hit the RSS button you can access the original movie files directly.

I use XSI too and I loved watching the WIP's you had on this project. I am happy that you have found time to drop by here and share your knowledge.

Great short too by the way!

By the way thank you for sharing. I'll take a look at them later and see what feedback I can give.

Thanks everyone! The short isn't finished yet. There will be a few months where its only on the festival circuit, but I'll be releasing it online after a couple of the big festivals. Until then, I'll be doing one podcast a week so I'll post them up here as I finish them!

Podcast #008 is up and talks about building the control panel for the character rigs. If someone has any links to how you do this sort of thing in Blender, I'd like to post it on the blog and help make things more Blender-friendly.

You want to create a mesh in Blender for pigeon and animate?
Or you want to use existing 3D Model of Pigeon and animate in Blender?

Oh, I meant the stuff in that episode. More specifically, how to set up a control panel for a character rig in Blender. Or even just a toolbar or shelf-like thing that lets you put a bunch of scripts into one place.

well, i suppose, space handler scripts would be possibly best suited for that,
good example of space handler in >this< thread(though not used for rig interface there).

or you could go a little more old-school and make it like can be seen in the screenshot at the end of this post:

Just a quick note to say I specially liked your "writing is rewriting" podcast. Lol, so true.

Great ideas! and great lighting, too! You might want to start a "translation" for blenderheads for your techniques, a tutorial would be great! (we have a wiki that could host it) I would be willing to work with you on getting it published.
