Hi

My first more serious attempt for Interior rendering in Blender.

Yes, this is 15th room which I made in Blender, but i'm quite happy only with this one.

Software used:
Blender 2.48
Yafaray
Original size: 3000x2400 px
Render time: 5h onQuadCore 2,4GHz

Under red pouff and near the edge of the wall there is a strange noise which I didn't manage to remove and I don't know why it is there

I've just found that YafrayExport Script can generate errors in this scene - it creates empty mesh block in the Blender and can't continue normally. The Solutions is to delete Object Cube1 and Cube1.001 (two spheres on the table). I'm sorry.

Looks very good and clear.
What render method you use ?
Can you post your render settings?

Sure. Here are my settings:

Light setup is simple. Just Sun and area lights in windows with 20 or so samples.

Yesterday, after rendering, I realized that I could use lower AA Samples and AA INc samples to boost rendering time. And when I use [ClampRGB] this strange white noise under chair is less visible ..but still is there :/ Anybody have an idea why it is happening?

Thank you for comments

I have the same problem with that kind of noise.
I think if you decrease reflection of the floor the noise also become smaller.
But its not the solution.
You can try to increase light samples and FG samples.
You can experiment with border render only on that problem zone.

As you said, decreasing reflection isn't a solution..
I've tried higher FG samples but it didn't help much.
I'm experimenting with higher AA settings , maybe this will help. After all i can remove this in photoshop ;]

Thanks for help Carboon

Hehe, I wanted to hang an abstract picture on the front wall but I find Gold Susane suits better there ^_^

Thanks

Great render, materials and lighting are amazing.

I'm definitely not a fan of the furnishings though.

Nice modelling and render. It is a shame you pointed out the strange noise, because now it attracts my attention. But I would have done the same! Have you tried to increase the raydepth? In my renders I tried raydepth 5.

Came across the attached image in the yafaray user guide version 3. Perhaps you need to increase the samples more drastically to reduce the noise? I know the image refers to path tracing and not to photon mapping, but perhaps the effect is similar.

I personally think this is an awesome blend. The textures are great (the monkey head and the black marblely ornament sort of thing). You have done well with the tiles and the textures overall are great. Great piece.

I do not like the dust-noise in the bottom of the chair, and also not excite with chairs texture. But overall a very good render.

Hi, very nice work, I'm also intrigued with chair sampling problems, can you tell us a bit more about chair material?

Thanks for comments I'm glad you like this image.

RayBlender - thanks for "quote" from Yafa Users Guide. I will check that, but I'm afraid this will increase rendering time A LOT . And when yafaray calculates image as fast as Indigo I prefer to use Indigo
ps. Raytrace Depth was set to 5 just before final rendering. In the screenshot is 2 but it's wrong..

Alvaro - here is my red leather material:

Hi xelptic!
Although I don't know the reason of the error, the solution is quite simple. The two balls on the table have no materials linked. Anyway the render is fine.
