Hi, I'm trying to make a 3D Character based on my friend's art from a game called Radical Tube.
![]() So far I got the base model... still need some work! but im happy with it so far ![]() I would like to know if someone could help me to get the right materials, so I get a render more like the picture!? Model from view: ![]() and my first try with materials: ![]() I'm thinking that it is too realist and faky.. :T I want it more cartoony please give me some suggestions too! Thanks! |

You could try to experiment a bit with color ramps to give it some highlights. Also try to do some edge detection filter on the normal or z pass or both and combine it in. There's also the edge option in the render panel but I think you have better control through the compositor

Let's see I got this picture...
![]() You seem to have at least some compositor knowledge since you have the glow effect... What I did here was to make a mix of the normal and z passes in order to get a good description of the pure geometry. Then I added a filter to that and a colorramp to get it black and white. Finally I multiplied it into the final image. Edit: This looks best with FSA enabled (in render panel press save buffers -> Full sample)
