Hello everybody!

I have written a tutorial about how to create tree sculptures with a custom shape and I am demonstrating how to do this on our beloved Suzanne using the Gen3 tree generator script by stager13.
The tutorial does not go into detail about the use of the tree script (since there are already tutorials about that) it just explains the steps you have to take after that.

You should not be a total beginner, but I am going pretty much into detail, so I guess it is ok, when you are not so experienced with Blender.

As a little teaser of what you can achieve here a glimpse at the "front page":

You can find the tutorial here (PDF, less then 1 MB):

http://www.kolban.com/3d/Tutorials/T...Tutorial_c.pdf

(Thanks to kolban for hosting it on his site)

Please let my know what you think about the tutorial, since it is my first ever tutorial, comments and critiques are very welcome. And also feel free to ask questions about it.

MD

I guess that is my lack of knowledge about compressing PDFs properly, since it is also the first PDF I created in my life and it contains quite some images.

I will have a look into how to get a smaller file and if I succeed, I will upload a new, slimmer file.

Btw., I have changed the download link now to a direct download, since kolban was so kind to host it on his site.

There is a new, smaller version of the file uploaded now, so it is just less than 1 MB in file size now, hope you enjoy.

That was a nice tutorial. A good example of a useful Boolean operation.

Thanks.

Look at this plant making tutorial http://yorik.orgfree.com/tutorials/treemaking.html by Yorik van Havre. I think it can help a lot...
