Hi everyone Ive made a toon character for those who want to start animating. It has basic controls is easy to use and is cute
The rig is far to be finished but functional. I plan to keep working on it and will post the updates as soon as I can.
You can find it at my new blog . Don't forget to comment your experiences with it, as its a wip every comment sugestion or critic will be wellcomed.
Here the new Blender friend Donky!
Since my friend's server seems to be broken I added the file into a free file hostin... crappy but works.http://www.filefactory.com/file/61da6e/n/Donkey001_rar

Newer version 01-08-2008

Hey, he looks great! He'll probably work great with some Shrek sound clips. Thanks!

Looks great!

But you posted in the wrong forum, this belongs in either focused critique or WIP

screens look good, I agree it might fit better in another forum, like finished projects though.
I'll have a look at it, looks like one of those oldskool mikey characters.

Nice animation. The character could have crouched over a bit more...since it appeared to be sneaking..but an excellent demonstration of the rig.

Hi Dav, I really like this rig – it’s straightforward to use and all the controls look easy to locate. The only thing I have noticed in the 10 minutes I’ve been playing with it is the eyebrows don’t appear to work (up and down). Missing from the rig (and really important I think) is good shoulder control – I would really like to be able to shrug Donkey’s shoulders. This looks like it could be a very useable cartoon rig – I will be glued to your blog for updates – brilliant stuff.

Cheers

Ps, would be great to have one solver to use the future IK FK function to maintain the simplicity of animating - to see what I mean go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZO2TIdy2ymU

Can you make a tutorial on how to animate this character?
And how to lipsync it!
Sure Walk-Cycles are good - but there is a need also of Talk-cycles=lipsynced sound.,.,

Thanks in advance,,,

That is one groovy rig!
I really like the 20s style rubber hose look.
@bov: eyebrows are working for me...

Nice one Dav!
