Hi there...

I decided to do a sad old man...
here is the sculpt progress:

A simple light and color test;

I started doing the hand from a cube and subdividing, extruding the fingers to have the basis position:

And after the first sculpting with 1 multires level:

After some tests I decided the camera position:

Now I need to finish sculpting the hand and tweaking the face, mainly where the hand touch it. His face looks weak, but his hand looks strong because the hard work.

After the sculpting I will retopo the head and then set materials and light.

Cheers.

wow! amazing sculpting. how many multires is that? just looking at the polygon count slows down my computer...

May I ask how you pulled down the neck so late into the process? i have a head i need to add one to, but I'm not sure the best way to go about it.

Really nice "Sculpt progress" image, it really shows the idea developing, specially for the likes of me (newbies). I like the expression, and the fact you refered of the weak face and strong hand.

I'll keep this thread under a watchfull eye

Sorry for a long time not posting. I'm a little busy those days and I pick only 3 days to work on this project. I hope to finish it at time.

@ BlenderNewb101 - Hi. So, the thing is I should stop on level 6 or 5 to retopo and restart sculpt on the new mesh, but I was so entertained... After all I did back to level 3, 4 and 5 to pull the neck and ear. That is the good thing about Multires, you can go and back everytime.

@ Ledd - Hey my brother! Good to see you here!! No, unfortunately I'm using the mouse. The tip is to configure the brushes and brush curve all the time. But not like using a wacom, right? By the way, talking about tablet, Nov 17 was my birthday... (just kidding)

@ Mpu.Bater - True, man... but without the clothes doesn't look. The thing with some old people is you can mistake easily. After you said that I see it looks like woman, and that tend me to keep like that... But I hope it changes at the end with some little tweaks.

@ Mats Halldin, meschoyez, Khell[PT] - Cheers all.

Finally 95% of sculpt finished! (5% will be some tweaks)
I decide not retopo because I will not have time.

For Now I have those Images:

And after some tests that is the first image close to the finished work, lighting and basic colors:

I based that project on Sebastiao Salgado works. He is an AMAZING photographer! And brazilian.

To do:
- simple background;
- materials and textures;
- tweak lights; (not so much. I'm quite happy with those)

aww... poor decrepit old guy... i take it the little stuff's a normal map and not real polys, right? if it is real polys, rendering something like that on my computer would be... insane...

And that was my references ...

It was a little bit a mix of both , never try to do a copy cat, but I let my self just follow what I fell about the images, chosing a little bit from one and another ... at the end you can see my favorite one ...

All images are from google search.

Other thing:

SSS and Hair are really trick to work!!

The SSS you get no details ...

but Hair changes if you change the render resolution!! You can see the low and high resolution on atachments...

So I discover I need to chenge the strands thickness on Strands Materials proprieties, changing the Start and End ...

Wow, you're a pro at this... I laik.
............................................
how to convert a scene into a set of realtime texture maps

It's great if you want to turn your whole scene into a bas relief, and if it's made up of many objects.

Since that's admittedly pretty useless, here is some crap from my gallery.

life on a marble, Witch head, Mechanical rig, The adventures of clay dog, Stone marshes, Tunnel explorer... and one game.

Ragdoll fighters!
