This is my first "serious" render and I'm still noobish with rendering.
Please comment to help me improve. Some more renders are here in the WIP thread

GodOfBigThings:

I have been quietly watching the progress of this model, and I can say that the mesh itself is absolutely top notch work. You said the mesh was nothing special, but I say it's the kind of mesh you'd expect from a professional modeler.

Having said that, the render has killed it for me. There is significant blurring, aliasing artifacts, and the environment (or lack of) and black floor are taking away from what is an awesome model.

My suggestion is to make some better renders, perhaps using yafaray or Luxrender. Alternatively, If I was in your shoes and couldn't get a render that was good enough, I'd PM someone like BBB and ask him if he would like to render the model for you using Vray. Sort of a collaborative effort that both of you could use to bolster your portfolios.

Good luck man.

I wouldn't necessarily do that. Once you post it it's out there in the ether....you could see it turning up anywhere....including turbosquid. It's a good, clean mesh. But it's up to you.

You could always send it to me....I have Hypershot and some pro level 10,000 x 5,000 HDR environments, so I'd be able to render out some high quality images in a few hours.

If you haven't seen hypershot, this is the kind of quality you get:

It's up to you. I'm trustworthy, and I've been part of this community since the beginning....back when we used to use the Blender.nl forums. (Just vouching for myself there)

Laters.

Alright
How do you want it? E-mail?
I knew about hyperShot before, but how do you use it for Blender?
And whats the difference between hyperShot and hyperDrive?
