Hi all,

This is my latest work 'Iron Man', after a quite much long time it is now done. I started this work from October of last year after the Iron Man movie coming out. I love that movie so much although it is my first time to know this hero, he drived me crazy! So I decide to blend a remade hero. As my time is not sufficient so this work last so many months, I can only work on this when I'm free on some weekend's night.

I modeled him and set up everything in Blender. The render is using the Vray script created by Andery. This is my first try under Vray so I test everything a lot. As I can not offer to buy one latest edition Vray so I can only use one earlier script v0.9.9 to work this out. I have to say that some features are quite limited for that version script but the speed and the GI and others satisfied me a lot. Andery is still working on his plus in demo, hope he could make this fast so that we can enjoy some more powerful render! lol. After that I do some painting in photoshop and some color tweak which is more easy and fast.

I prefer he's fighting with some monster or something huge which has strong power and weapons, some police humans back up him but not that useful. Everything around are in pieces and full of explosive, I like this kind of image. As I love Micheal Bay's movie style, such as his 'Pearl Harbor" or "Transformer". I try to learn some ideas on lighting or fire effect from his movie. I hope I could be a good student. :P

I'm not a professional artist, so I can only try my best to full it with my imagination. Thanks many friends helped me and gived ideas on this work. Thanks all! Hope you like him.

nice. The suit's lighting seems different from the rest of the scene though.

I think the background's actually kind of distracting and detracts from the composition. Maybe just a shot of the suit by itself?

Damn, really nice work.

I like the final render, although its a little do detailed regarding the background/foreground. The contrasting warm and cold colours work very well together though, which is something I find difficult to get looking good. You've nailed it though.

Other than that perhaps a few other renders would be good? The final render is nice, but it doesnt show off the model in all its glory. Some basic shots with a simple background would let us see Iron man a lot better. Is he rigged?

Im a big fan of the movie, and wanted to do exactly what youve done here as soon as I came out of the theatre.

Awesome work!

Incredible piece of work. That smaller pic really doesn't do justice to this. The detailing is superb and the atmosphere is great.

My biggest nitpick are the cops in the background, who are too visible. They pop up from the surrounding and lack the same level of light that the rest of the scene has. Also the bg sky texture seem to be pretty low res.

Really great model, but the fence on the side is bugging me, looks sort of low poly. How many of the background elements did you make vs. post pro.?

Nice image. The only thing I think could be changed is the "perfect" looking suit. Perhaps some scratches would look nice.

The suit is too shiny...it looks like its glowing...it makes it look almost 2D. Other wise not bad...Iron Man suit IS something difficult to recreate.

Nice work.

Thanks every1, I just add simple rig to him as this is not animation. Indeed many friends told to me that they feel he looks too bright, but in my mind I prefer a hero should focus on power and energy. If he is the one, he should be unique and strong to give people hope. So I want to make him looks more bright in the pic so that everyone will pay attenation on him. So this is why I didn't make he looks the same from the movie.
You can check the details of the work from the wip link, I repaint those fire effect in photoshop.
Thanks for your comments and critique
