This is the result of a collaboration between me and GodOfBigThings. He made the brilliant car mesh, and I did some additional modeling (Seats, steering wheel, various other interior parts), then created the Paint job, lit and rendered the model.

*Edit* Location shots are now more or less done.

The first two are straight compositing attempts.

This one is a little more stylised (hopefully).

Yeah, the blue disk brakes are odd, but wow, what a great render and superb modelling.

For some reason it looks like a highly detailed toy rather than full sized car. I cant work out why but something about the lighting and your choice of DOF makes me see it like that.

I concur; the blue is wierd. Also, I'm not sure how u did the reflections (ray or HDRI?) but the tree reflection looks slightly out of place in a studio render.

Other than that though...WOW!

The modeling is fantastic, rendering and lighting are very good also. It may just be personal taste but I think you went a bit crazy with all of the decals.

heh....I can almost drown in the apathy....

GodOfBigThings:

As promised brother, I've created a few location shots. It seems nobody is really interested, so I'm just going to post the final images, then call it done with this thread.

Thanks for the collaboration, it was fun to work with such a talented newcomer!

I very much appreciate your ability to create such amazing images. They are breath taking.
What I cant appreciate is the fact that you put so much text and logos on this amazing car. Its not an import. Its a supercar so it doesnt deserve to be lowered to imports level.

Amazing modeling. I thought the images were your references at first.

I especially like the second image.

Very hard to tell that the first two are CG

As for lack of interest, thats because very few people are good enough to comment on this.

Nice 1337 get

Oh, and about the model, that is very nice, I really like the edge flow and lighting here.

Awesome work, both of you!
The paint job is a work of art!
I really like the motion blur, but in the second one, the angle and blur direction seems a little strange...maybe it's just me.
Oh yes, to the gallery please!

Overall very good modelling and rendering. ( What render eingine by the way ?)

What bothers me a little bit are the very recognizable reflections in the first and 3rd render. They just do not correlate to the environment .

In the rain render e.g. you see the reflection of a house obviously in sunshine - the next second the car will crash into it

Was the compositing also done in blender ?

Ok first off congratulations on the project it looks amazing. Second in my opinion this is the best model and render I have seen from blender and I think the image should be in the gallery immediately also do the rounds with it, it should be shown around the Internet. This work of art is up there with the big boys and shows what can be done in blender! Great job guys and keep the images coming!

Have to agree, the hdr doesn't fit the sorrounding. But I know how hard it is to find good hdr images.

I dunno about the red headlights in the 3rd picture, makes no sense to me, cause the tail-/brakelights are ment to be red. Better some white / blueish light that flashes the viewer?

Other than that...model + materials are great and fit perfectly in the first two pictures!

you know what? it reminds me of Need for Speed Prosteet's graphic quality (and paint schemes). Now, my friend, you are truly amazing.

The reflections in the yellow car betray it's location. I need to see speed lines on the hood too, just like the background, then I will believe it.

Blue could use more contrast in it's reflections. Looks a bit flat.

Aside from that, awesome! My favorite is the yellow one.
