I'd expect the release logs and release download to be available real soon. Congradulations for another great release and a really good one for the BGE, enjoy the last version with the current interface, I'd expect the current 2.4x branch to be merged into the 2.5 branch or something else before long.

I decided to announce early because I'm always beaten to the punch anyway, enjoy when the downloads start popping up.

If you define dunking as having two attempts at a lay up and making one, then yes, by all means, I can dunk.

Ok, yeah, I figured I was probably just needlessly worrying about it.

Next time I'll post for those that don't read it.

I can't wait to see "Release Ahoy" for 2.5!!!

What if 2.5 takes longer then expected and the need to make a in between version? I really want the developers to take there time with 2.5 to insure that it's everything they want and everything we want more or less. Would there be a V2.49.2?

I suppose if it happens it happens. 2.5 is moving swiftly though. I doubt it will be necessary. I've been using the RC3 of 2.49 for a while and I love all the great new features. Looking forward to the official.

2.49 was the in-between version.

Or they'll just do 2.49a, 2.49b... ect until 2.5.

But it's likely that 2.49 is pretty stable. So if 2.49a does have to happen, it will still be a Looooooong gap between.

But we will all be REALLY eager for it by then.

If anything there will be a 2.49a. But from the release of 2.49 it's most likely that all developers will work only with the 2.5 code, so even if it takes time there won't be any features/bug fixes for a between release.

Whoohooo! I believe there will be a big gap between this release and the 2.4 release aswell. The developers has to consentrate 100% on 2.5 !

Made some jaunty builds on launchpad if anyone's interested.

The .diff.gz is a little wonky because I was working from a svn checkout and then used the official tarball to do the final deb but that shouldn't really matter. Also (maybe) included a bugfix that isn't in the release.

Didn't notice they were including 'official' .debs on blender.org before I started in on this so...

here is a suggestion

\there is an SVN for 2 new tools for the new nurbs tools

would it be possible to include theses 2 new tools in 2.49

at least it would be a little more flexible with nurbs

Happy blendering

He he, wasn't 2.45 supposed to be the very last release before 2.50?

@RickyBlender: No, releases don't work that way. Even if the features were ready, it's too late with a release imminent.

I hope that they will use an Avisynth enabled ffmpeg when building the Window versions. It would be great to use Avisynth in the sequencer in the official realease.

EDIT: It doesn't seem to be included. Bummer. There are some really good resons for an Avisynth enabled Blender here: http://www.blender.org/forum/viewtop...3631&view=next

The Blender.org site is doing okay but the download speed is 13 kilobytes a second, too bad I was probably sleeping when the release came out
