Well done to all entrants - the quality level has been extremely high this year. However, there can only be one winner, so good luck to everyone. The poll will be up for 7 days.

If you haven't tried some of the games, you can find them here... http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?t=157542

I vote for duk duk, because personally I think good quality art is way more important than all shaders together, also I 'd like to see a game to be the winner, not just a graphical demo

I voted for Burning Rubber. It has cool effects like Ruinas, but has a distinct style to it. My favourite part is the menus. And I played it on many different systems. (Tested on my Macbook Pro, running Leopard and Windows 7. Kinda buggy on Mac tho)

It was very difficult to pick! But I voted for Thump Stuff, I think that the mix of brilliant art direction, and some great shaders really paid off. Though well done everyone!

My top for this category are Thump Stuff, MegaGolf (no GLSL folks!) and Duk Duk.
I'm thinkin DukDuk ...

I'm a sucker for NPR, and these entries really had the best combination of graphics AND design.

While Ruinas was very impressive, the 5fps I was getting kind of made me think. Ruinas and the other graphical demos had the advantage that they did not have to deal with playability. So my criteria was nice graphics, but still playable. This left a lot of good ones still to chose from. Nanoshooter had some nice texture stuff, and other games did some cool graphics stuff. Since I couldn't decide, I just voted for myself

However, like +peter I'm also a sucker for NPR (non-photorealistic) graphics.

Although, many of the games had amazing graphics, My vote went to Megagolf, in this category as well. Megagolf was just so clean and professional looking, and had none of the frame rate issues the other games suffered from. I thought I was being lied to when I was told Megagolf had no glsl, A very impressive game overall.

I understand Ruinas has the whole GLSL wowee factor...
But Burning Rubber? Has nice menus...

I dunno, I think we are still a little too starry eyed over the GLSL stuff.

Has to be Duk Duk for me. Lovely hand painted textures and storyboards. Fantastic environments and lighting. A great magical game world.

Defenitely voting for Ruinas. The graphics were completely unreal.

Wow guys...no offense, but voting for certain games because of framerate, etc? Seriously this is graphics not gameplay. Sctrictly graphics. My vote went to ruinas

Why shouldn't framerate be an issue? In my mind, this contest is a showcase of Blender's abilities. I don't know how well a nice looking but runs-like-crap-on-mid-to-low-range-computers does that. A game that looks nice AND runs nicely is better in my mind... so even though the graphics were great, my vote went to DukDuk for the fact that it still had nice graphics, but ran well.

Also... ColorCube had better graphics than Burning Rubber IMO. The cars/menu were great and nicely done, but the ground was just a huge shiny... odd-looking thing, and the level was kind-of-ok textured at best. Applying a bumpmap does not mean that it's "good graphics." Makes me wonder who's voting for it...

I think all opinions are valid. There are excellent works that have chosen a better relationship Graph / FPS like Duk Duk and MegaGolf.I however try make the best possible quality graphics (with an acceptable fps for a walktrough). Are different proposals.

Well, as vitorbalbio said, all opinions are valid, but i think good quality game doesn't need to be the best to play on every computer, just look to Crytek's Crysis, not all pc's can play it, but is the most expensive in graphics, you need a high end pc to play it, on a mid-low pc it's just not as good and not very playable, but again, all opinions are valid good luck to all participants.

If I haven't entered in the contest, I've votted for Ruinas or Thump Stuff, coudn't decide, every one have it's own style, good job everyone.
