Hi all,
plan to join this game too, so here I raise my wip process thread: I get a idea from this interesting picture, as the topic is other world. So I decide to create such kind of magic land world. So here I draw a sketch with many pictures, I plan to make this mother land world. The girl or maybe I could say a fairy, she gives life and support to the land or country or some magic city~ here are my up to now work, I modeled the city with many reference from Lord of the Ring and some photos. The girl is not finished yet, I plan to make it looks like a Archer from WarIII~ still there need many details work to do~ Anyway, please kindly post your think on my work, I'm wondering what I can get from your guys

Hey, in my opinion you already have to win because of the concept. I like it very much. You also nailed the city - may I ask what polycount it has? Also pretty cool sculpting on the hill.

I really like your concept. The model is impressive, keep up good work!
BTW, I'd like to see an ancient, Babylon-like city with hanging gardens etc...

wow~ so happy you guys likes my works~ I will try to finish it on time and hit my point~
![]() The city is almost 228932 faces~I use alt+d for many time~ so this is a very easy way to fill the whole hill~I didn't add any modify, if there is a modify such as subsurf I will apply it~ and the render time is 58sec~ 3 spots lights + AO on And regarding the hill, about 35537 faces. I add a nor map so it could looks like more details~ I'm now working on the hair modeling~ will update soon

Hi All,
sorry I didn't do any update so far, but I'm still working on this~ stuck by many things~ so here we go~ this is so far what I did, I render a very prototype for test, do some color tweak in photoshop, no matte painting on this. To do list and issues: 1, I want to make the rocks under water and onside more true and realistic, I think I make them looks too huge compared with the building. 2, shade improvement. the building, ocean, and lady body, I still not quite sure about how to make a creature. 3, I plan to add some more birds, fishes, boats or something else. 4, the underwater is hard to create, I think I may need to add some particle inside to make it looks kind of dirty. not sure abt that 5, color balance, I think I may be not quite good at this, need help. 6, the front scene may need more work, I mean close to the camera, now I just do a water wave. and I think there may be some way to improve a wave flower~ Please check my model shoot: I think this looks so far away from the final, really need your c&c on this. or any help on the to-do list will be most appreciate ~

Wow, coming along nicely. Some crits:
The waves need to be more detailed, it almost looks like a miniature. Underwater needs to look more dirty, or a least not a clear Where the hair comes in contact with the head looks a tad off The rocks scales are off Need to populate the city and underwater more

This is really fantastic! Really!
Other than the things that you have mentioned already, the only crit I would have is that the city doesn't necessarily look like it is on the girls back right now. In the concept render it was pretty obvious that her back was sticking up above the water, but not so much in this latest update. This may be due to the water obscuring the camera in that section of the image. I liked the setup in the concept render, so would like to see more of that in the final. Absolutely stunning! |

The scale will never look completely realistic because the fact that you can see underwater that far negates any sense of large scale. If instead the city were a smaller object, like a little shack or a single smaller building then i think that would work better, and the scale of the water needs to change to.

Looking fantastic.
I would agree that the city doesn't look like it's on her back. This is because it looks like the size of the island is larger than the part of the back it is on and because you cannot see where the island and her back connect because of the water line. Perhaps making the tenticles/roots sink more into the ground would be good? |

hi guys, one more update.
I agree with the size issue, it looks quite not match really, but there's no time to do such big change~ I think this may be my concept fault T.T~ now I'm trying to reduce the front water wave with more blur and low alpha, so I think now maybe better for people to trust this is connected. any one have better idea? I changed the sky color~ but I'm not quite sure the red sky will fit more to fantastic. I repainted the texture for hills and rocks, do some displacement map change for those udner water. I think the scale may better now. I added three boats and more fishes, some birds and water wave. only water wave and front scene birds are pictures~ ![]() here I uploaded two, one with some front fishes, but I thought they messed too much. Another one without so many fishes~ now not sure what I should add now. some flags?
