I have recently completed a head and face rig which is quite flexible and capable of some lip syncing through shapekeys.
I have done some videos that show what it can do and I am posting the blend file for those who want to play around with it and maybe use it for something creative. Even though I am complete with this some comments and critique are welcome so that I can improve myself to my next project. Lip syncing to some Pulp Fiction dialog. Great rig! It offers nice range of expressions with relatively small number of controls.

@ristesekuloski - Thanks, I did not want a single controller for every little muscle on the face, I wanted it simple. For example the mouth corner controllers play a big role in the whole chin area by affecting the bones in that area in different ways. They do that in a way a thought they should based on "look in the mirror and make funny faces research"
