It´s too new for anyone to have written any tutorial about it, but I´ve
taken a screenshot over my settings here:

With the latest Noodle enabled CVS (orange branch) of course...

Xarton : you win ! that's exact, it's "show dead" option. and as bonus here's the blend file:

Joongle: I've downloaded the Linux version of Orange branch, but it crashes when I try to render the scene,so I'm waiting for the next release (there seems to be a newer one), I'm eagre to see the fake sss in an animation !

I think you add points to curves with Ctrl+LMB just like adding verts in Edit mode.

I've got the same problem... Can't seem to figure out how to change anything via nodes other than the simple basics like color...

I managed to get a "Colorband" thing by connecting Alpha on the input to Color on the output and expanding the resulting box, but that's as far as I've gotten.

Make sure you have the newest build - curves were not in the original node build.
Then press Ctrl-A to add a node!

the one from 1-12-06? Because Ctrl-A doesn't do anything.

Uhmz, I have a rather stupid question, where can I find that node editor? I've been surfing through the Blender menus for more than an hour now and I still haven't found it. I'm currently using Blender 2.40.

Thx, Fritz.

That's because the node editor isn't a part of the 2.40 release. It's only in the Orange testing builds, which are found on the Blender3d.org site. You can download the latest build from here:

Question regarding nodes: I've noticed (in JoOongle's pics) that nodes can be used to simulate SSS. Can they also fake AO? And if so, is the rendering faster than using true AO?

Thx

It's subsurface scattering. Where light penetrates a surface and scatters inside it, like when you hold your hands up to a light, and see the red glow around your fingers.
