Hi, I'm working on the 3D effects of a sci-fi (parody) short film called:

V de Vicioso (la cuarta temporada)

The film is now in postproduction fase.
The firs model and scene (mothership approach intro) is just completed:

All you see is pure Blender (internal renderer). Hope you like it

Here's an image an the final animation (text and sound here is only for test pourposes and not appear in the film):

Download the Animation 13,5MB.

The web of the short film (spanish):

P.D: Sorry by my poor english

That music adds a lot to create a very nice atmosphere to the whole scene. Beautiful. How did you make the electricity arcs? They look perfect.

Awesome work!

Couple of stickler points if you care: 1. you should put a halo around the globe to simulate atmosphere (look few posts up or down from yours for that movie aobut meteor); 2. I do not believe there is lightning arcs in space (same as you wouldn't see a ray of light in space or there is no sound in space). Maybe if you enclose the arcs within some sort of a transparent structure, then it would look scientifically plausable.

But again, those are minor things. Keep up the good work.

The music is from the original "V" sountrack.
The electric arcs (at least this time) are symple animated textures

1=You are right, but no time to refine the render so much
2=Thi's not a documentary, it's a scy-fi film. You can see space explosions in StarWars, and no body cares

I absolutly love that intro, great detailling and the electricity under the ship really added a Hollywood feel.
The actors on the other hand, well....lets say they wont be seeing an Oscar anytime soon, but i like the concept..

Awesome Job .

Btw,how did you accomplish that? [The Elactricity]

Great stuff! Maybe you should add some 'spaceship passing overhead' sounds... I know space is silent, but I think the dramatic effect would be amazing.

Hmmm... It probably wont work. Let\'s do it anyhow!
