UPDATE:

It is with great pleasure that I release Br!x 2.0!

some major game play updates, and lots and lots of eye candy!

This version works great with the Blender-player now!! (it is very cool! I never knew blender materials worked in the external game engine 8) )

This game is made with 100% Logic Block Goodness!!!

This game is also 100% raster texture free!!! all blender materials

The bricks come in in different formations now. ...

There is a bad guy! I call him "whirl"... you can shoot him, and make points by bouncing him off the top of the board... dont let him hit your paddle tho >:|

lots of bug fixes...

Thanks again for all the feedback and support here in the forums

and here is the file :

let me know what you think

thanks nitrofreak06

I tried to be frugal with system resources.... this game is 100% texture free!!

This is really fun. Now add a score counter and a highscore list and I have something to relax myself from work.

hi skypa!
Thanks for playing and the nice comment
yea I want to make a high score list too... along with a few other small features.
there is already a score counting if you the debug option turned on

Hey Social!
Thanks that is a great complement! I have spent quite a bit of time working out the game play and tweaking the speeds of things
I am already thinking of a sequil.

have a good day everyone

Hey braveheart!

That is yet another great compliment from a Blender Game Engine Guru.

Believe it or not, there is not one bit or byte of scripting in that game!

yea , thats right it is 100% code free

the score of 1070 means that you are close to getting 2 balls in play

EDIT::: you must have had 3 balls in play, I am sorry about that..
my highest is 1850....
the 4th ball was spawning and distracted me

well, this is great encouragement folks! I am laying out another game .....
this time I am borrowing (stealing) ideas from asteroids,Robotron 2084, temptas, and stargate (1979 version, not the TV show game)

Thanks again everyone for playing my game, it is a great honor to finaly be able to call myself a 3d video game creator... rather than just a video game content creator

My only complaint is that the controls are tyoo sensitive. Maybe you could set up a mouse script to move the platform from side to side.

I really like this game. The dynamics are interesting kind of like a mix of space invaders and break out, and not too much a clone of either. I especialy like how you can shoot the ball/s with your missle, it adds to the impression that you thought this out quite well.
Well done.

Hi Arr Matey!! ,

Indeed!
I want mouse movement as well... wish there was a way without scripting.....
I like the bragging rights, that i made a complete game with logic blocks... but mouse controls would add Soooo much to this game!

Thanks for the Feedback!

@ GeneralJ,

Yea this is the first time I want into it with some sort of a plan. It really helped the final product... It is nice to already have the decisions made rather than sitting pondering for hours of the endless possibility's...

I did ponder a bit during game testing, but in the end the plan made all the difference in the world...

My next game already has a bunch of working parts this morning, all because of pre-planning...

reminds me of an old army saying... about the P's of success...
Proper Pre Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance!

@ OTO,

Thanks, that is a great compliment.... hope my next game has as great of a reception...
I want to start a school here soon for people to get started in video games... both adults and kids...
Daytime... kids learning video game content creation... nights teaching adults how to make real time 3d presentations...
off time... rent out lab as render farm... or utilize the systems for some animation project...($$$?)

theblenderboy ,

sure! I just use the Z axis for the gravity.... and the x for the width of my board....
I constrain all the physics stuff to not move in the Y axis. (except for special effects like cinders, and debris from explosions)

@ matro,

Thanks Glad you liked it

@ Social,

Have a nice day everyone

enjoy playing it.. very addicitive.. good gameplay.. I would make it so you only die when all your balls have hit the bottom.. not all 3.. hmmm or maybe not? that would change the tension..hmm

Hi master noob, that is a great complement! thanks

@kirado,

I agree! I might be doing a sequil here soon as I learn a bit more about the game engine....

mouse movements are #1 for me...
the next thing would be some kind of scoreing system... I have an idea on how to do it without useing a texture

I want to be able to blow the other ball up somehow... perhaps when you make 2 balls collide together ...

anyways... thanks again everyone!
