Modeled in Blender and rendered with Maxwell Render v1.1. Final composition and tweaks with Photoshop.

-Edit- Just to clear up, this is not the actual Chrysler building in Tokyo. See my post lower down for an explanation.

Chrysler building.

nice work as usual. The reflections look realistic.
The render looks way wider than the reference tho.

Very cool. Looks very much like the reference.
Edges of those window frames look extremely sharp though.

Wow. Slick. Nice choice of sky texture, too, and good alignment.

They are there mate, make sure you can view images from photobucket. Some work servers lock the site down.

The angle is a flaw, imo, as this could be any building. Unless I'm ignorant, which is of course possible. Seems to me though that the most recognizable part of the Chrysler building is its top. While I commend you for taking a different approach to capturing the image, I can't really applaud you for the perspective...

The modelling looks great, and the render is spot-on with the reference, though.

I agree. I have no idea which building it is. The sign at the top I decided to make a Chrysler sign. I used the photo for a guide only.

The focal point is directly above the camera on the Z axis, which in Blender is not much of an issue, but in Maxwell the camera starts doing wierd things. The view angle is the closest I could get without doing a full camera match.

Thanks for the comments.

The render does certainly look better than the photo refrence. Very realistic looking piece.

now i see them.

excellent work, as expected! youre pretty fucking close to matching the reference photo exactly. you should try an Indigo version to see how they compare. also, dunno if youve got the whole building modelled, but itd be cool to see some different shots/angles.

Sonix, the perspective of this piece is something I enjoy most about it.

Technically perfect and aesthetically sensational!

Well done as always. Five stars easily.

Looks great bro, but you could've done that in blender, like the rendering and stuff.

I don't know if he could have. There are a couple lighting things. Anyway, he has maxwell, and it works great, no point in pushing blender to someone who already uses it.

Sweet stuff, Sonix. You always have nice work.

It looks really realistic, and Spec map gives a great tone to that Glass.

Nice work Sonix, very well done. I think the sky works really really well in your Maxwell version, nicer than the origional sky .

Concidered giving Indigo a go? Perhaps I'm just being a conservative thinker, but I always like the combinations of Blender with Gimp, Indigo and that kinda things. Oh and Linux of course. Personally I like the thought of creating something as cool as this image with open-source or perhaps 'just' freeware applications.

Would the render time be reduced a lot of the right wall would be 'just' a texture? Or wouldn't it give good results?

Anyways, great work sonix! Five stars from Holland.
