When I first saw this character I knew it was my destiny to model it.

When I saw the original sketch, I fell in love with it straight away. It was just so cute.

Nice attempt at realising this in 3D. To me, it doesn't capture the original spirit of the character enough. In particular, I think the ears are a bit too thick. Also, the shaping of the eyes has something to do with this.

I can't wait to see how many of those concepts will turn out (if they end up in the final short that is)

I agree with Aligorth in that the ears seem a bit too thick in comparison to the concept sketches, also the depth of the mouth doesn't seem quite right. I think the character is very much true to the concept otherwise. It is in a "neutral" pose, to aid in animation, and I can definitely see the puppy dog eyes coming out with the right posing, shader and specularity.

Were you gonna use curves for the few whiskers and then texture or particles for the fur, or a combination of both, more likely.

I can't wait to see what you do with the rest of his roly-poly body, he's definitely got character.

Yeah, i totally agree with Modron.
But according to the reference the nose could be a little taller. Other than that it is spot on!

Hey! Thanks for all the comments.

Here is what I have so far:

Replicating a 2d drawing can be hard... visualing the side-view etc.

The feet are temporary.

Wow! This looks really awesome... for some reason the "hands" don't look quite right though.

Can't wait for you to add fur...
