Hi

Here's a screenshot of my City Block Generator script. I made it by generating and placing a couple of blocks and rendered it using the super cool new radiosity options. I'm still trying to fix a bug that causes it to sometimes not generate a block when create is pressed. If anyone knows what the problem might be, let me know. I'll release the script as soon as I've fixed that bug or maybe earlier if I can't fix it.

The details can easily be added manually where required. This serves as a mere backdrop for the more spectacular buildings. My plan was to write a script that places pre-designed buildingd to create an intricate city. This would include a file format for importing and exporting buildings, but I ran out of time with my exams creaping up on me. I'll start that project when I've got time again.

Thanks for the feedback

Nice. This should save me, let's see... Add five, carry the two... About a bajillion hours of modeling time

I've been working on a city scene by duping a whole bunch of cube objects, but never really realized that I was missing the kind of grid layout cities have.

This looks very useful! It would be much more useful if the custom buildings were added tho. Hope to see you continue on with it

Yes please do continue with it. The screen shots I looked at looked great. One question: Is it possible NOT to use radiosity in this. I would like to use it for the game engine. It would save me loads of time.

Looking great! I think that with using this I could save a huge amount of time in my newest project. I'm trying to create a city with a colossal fork just leaning one of the buildings and with this script I could create the city very easily leaving me just the problem of texturing it to look real.
