OK, Running WinXP Pro, Radeon 9800 Pro, Athlon 2600+ with 768 MB DDR

This JUST started, dunno why. even a format didn't fix it. Blender, from version 2.1 to 3.1 to the latest distro, will freeze after a few moments. no reason that I can tell... I can still close blender, and return to desktop.

HELP!

ok, tracked it down a little further...

it freezes after the second render. I do ALOT of low quality test renders, so thats why it is always very shortly after I start blending...

No need to replace the card, just find drivers that have a correct implementation of 2D openGL. I know it's hard for ATI card, but it can be done.

it might be the virtual memory, go into the controll panel, choose system, and find virtual memory, then change it to a different local disk, and restart the computer.

but that might not be the case......try and see what happens

It was the drivers, the 3.9 drivers work fine, the 3.10's cause the problem. Unfortunetally, the 3.10s kick the 3.9 drivers in every other area....
